{"id":1363,"date":"2014-02-19T08:42:56","date_gmt":"2014-02-19T08:42:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.moneylaunderingcompliance.com\/?p=1363"},"modified":"2014-02-19T18:16:50","modified_gmt":"2014-02-19T18:16:50","slug":"hm-treasury-money-laundering-controls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.moneylaunderingcompliance.com\/index.php\/general-information\/hm-treasury-money-laundering-controls","title":{"rendered":"HM Treasury issue advice about unsatisfactory money laundering controls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">HM Treasury has issued new advice about risks posed by unsatisfactory money laundering and terrorist financing controls. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On 14 February 2014 the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) published two statements identifying jurisdictions with strategic deficiencies in their anti-money laundering and counter financing regimes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Money Laundering Regulations 2007 require regulated entities to put in place policies and procedures in order to prevent activities related to money laundering and terrorist financing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>Higher Risk Jurisdictions<\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In response to the statements published by FATF on 14 February 2014, HM Treasury advises firms to:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Consider the following jurisdictions as high risk for the purposes of the Money Laundering Regulations 2007, and so advises firms to apply enhanced due diligence measures in accordance with the risks:<\/span><\/p>\n<table style=\"width: 463px;
